United States Consumer Research Analysis
United States Consumer Research Analysis is a project by Akash Renuka Ashok (Co-Founder and CTO). Analysis of a 325-response US consumer study, translated into product, positioning and go-to-market direction.
- Role
- Co-Founder and CTO
- Category
- Research & Strategy
- Stack
- Survey data analysis, Frequency & mean scoring, Segment cross-tabulation, RICE prioritisation
The problem
The company's existing narrative was AI-first, but it was untested against direct consumer preference data in the target US market.
What Akash owned
Ran the analysis, wrote the findings and limitations, and translated results into a product repositioning recommendation.
Highlights
- Ran frequency counts, rating means and age/pet-type cross-tabulations before applying any strategic framing
- Found the AI-assistant proposition rated 3.01/5 with a bimodal split, materially weaker than consolidated records at 75.1% rating 4 or 5
- Recommended repositioning from an AI-first product toward a longitudinal pet-health operating system, with the AI assistant as the intelligence layer inside it
- Wrote an explicit limitations section covering sampling, question design and the gap between stated intent and observed behaviour
Outcome
Shifted product strategy and roadmap priorities (e.g. automated record ingestion) based on evidence rather than the company's prior assumption.
